Our recent review (per-visit homepage output) reveals a clear gap between institutional prestige and digital experience. When 88.7% of university websites fail Core Web Vitals, this is not merely a performance issue; it is a breakdown in Digital Access and Institutional Experience.
For universities competing globally for students, faculty, research partnerships, and funding, slow or unstable websites create friction at critical decision-making moments. Accessibility exposes the same challenge: while many institutions perform reasonably well on average, only 17.7% achieved a perfect 100, showing that fully inclusive digital access is still not a sector-wide standard. For university leadership, these issues matter because the website is often the first campus experience and poor digital delivery can weaken trust, inclusivity, and global competitiveness.
